Tradefish Designs Week

Hi there!
Hope you are enjoying the weekend and find time to be crafty. I, myself, have been too busy with other stuff ...so, no cardmaking for me no.
But, luckily, I got to play with some gorgeous clearstamps from Tradefish Designs earlier this week and managed to make my card for the Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 Cards! Woot, woot!
And the theme for this week will be "Masculine". Not my cup of tea, you could say. But I did my best. LOL
I chose one of my favourite designer papers and kept it pretty simple. Two tags that I sprinkled some glimmer mist on and embossed the sentiment. The picture doesn´t do the color of embossing justice. In real, it´s more black, with a hint of green when you hold it up against the light.

The brown flower was white from the start, but I sprayed it with some glimmer mist "Tattered Leather". I also dug deep in my drawers and found this charm in shape of three skulls. What could possibly be more suitable than skulls for a masculine themed card!? ; )

Anyway...check out the sketch below and join in with your take on it. You´ve got a whole week to get it ready...and don´t forget to add a direct link to your blogpost when you´re done. We would love to have a look at what you create!

Have to go...have a birthday party to attend to!

See you back here soon. In meanwhile - stay crafty!

Sunday sketch x 2...

Hi there!

Are you enjoying your weekend? Having time to be crafty? Or are you just chillin´and having a good time with friends and family?

I can say Yes! on all the above. Feeling blessed to have such wonderful family and friend to spend time with.

But I guess you are here to check out what I have been up to...at least regarding my cardmaking. So...today I´m not only gonna show you the card I made for the sketch of today, but I also want to take the opportunity to show you the card for last week. ( Been having waaaay to much on my plate this week to be updating the blog. Sorry for that! ) And now...let´s have a look at the most recent card I made...

By distressing a piece of plain, white paper, I came up with a lovely palette of autumn colors. Brought out my spellbinders to get the shape I wanted and then fired away with some lovely stamps around the edges. Finally adding the sentiment...that was a bit too large to fit at first. But, by breaking it up, I managed to squeeze it in quite neatly I think. The rest is just layering... ; ) and a final touch with the leaves and berries. A little close-up on the main focus. Stamps from Inkadinkado( sentiment) and Lavinia Stamps.

And, in case you feel the urge to have a go at the same sketch...here it is! = )

I told you that I was going to show you my card for last Sunday as well...and here it comes. Enjoy!

Guess I will be called "The Rebel" again with this one. But that´s fine with me! ; )

You see, when I first saw the sketch, I immediately came to think of mountains and a setting sun..and that´s what I went for..!

Check out the sketch below and then tell me you don´t see mountains and a setting sun! ; ) Or, it could be just me and my twisted mind...haha. = )

And the place, where you can find all these lovely sketches and plenty more challenges, is of course 365 Cards! The best place to find new inspiration for your cardmaking! So...I hope to see YOU there...taking part in all the crafty challenges we support!

Stay safe...and stay crafty!

Back for my regular Sunday card!

Welcome back!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend and that you´ve managed to find time to be crafty!
Today I´m here to show a card I´ve made for the sketch at 365 Cards. I just love working with sketches. The outcome doesn´t always look like the original, but I think that´s the point with sketches. You are supposed to twist and turn it ...perhaps even change the elements or shapes a little. To take the sketch and turn it into yours. But I know not everyone agrees with me on this. Might be why I´m being called a rebel sometimes.... ; )

Purple and brown...a fab combination! The sentiment meens like "Coffee?" I´m gonna send this one to my mother when she gets back from her vacation. Think she´ll have plenty to tell about her trip to Thailand...and might have some pictures to show as well! Sure hope so! = )
Put my Martha Stewart border punch to use... ; )
Lovely papers, right?! It´s from a swedish manufacturer called Maja Design. Gorgeous patterns and quality!

As you can see, I flipped the sketch. But other then that, I think I stuck quite well to the original. Don´t you agree?!

Hope you come and play along today...Don´t forget to uplink your card when you´re done with it. Now run along to 365 Cards to check out some more awsome dt sample cards!

If you like, feel free to leave a litte note to let me know you were here and to let me come visit you back.

Friday challenge for a change!

Hi there!
I´m back with a card that I made for the Friday challenge at 365 Cards. Just filling in for Jennifer, while she´s still on vacation.
The challenge was a really fun one. It´s called "Boy meets girl" and you´re about to find out why.
"Use girly papers and make a card for a little boy, or take a paper suitable for a little boy and make a card for a girl. It´s that simple!"

And, as you can see, I decided to make a card for a girl. I searched thru my stash and found this doublesided paper that is really cool. I cut out some flames and attached them to the front before I put on some glitter glue on the edges. Added a few more flames, that I mounted on pop-dots.

The sassy girl is a stamp from a swedish designer namned Katja. Some attitude in that rocker girl don´t you think?!

Ok...hope you come play along on this fun challenge. And make sure to be back here tomorrow, as I then present my take on the Sunday super sketch! That´ll be fun! ; )

Off to do some cardmaking...

Hi there!
Sunday it is, and therefor I have a lovely card ready to show!
It´s a take on the Sunday Sketch at 365 Cards and I stuck by it quite well I think. No "rebel" here this week, haha.
I´ll leave you to see my pictures before I tell a bit about how I made it, ok?

For the border with flowers, I have cut a strip of CS and then punched out three "retro flowers" evenly in the middle. I used both the strip and the flowers.

First I attached my strip of CS to the card. Then I inked the petals a bit before folding them gently. Adding another punched out flower to the center of my first one and topping it off with a sweet pearl.

I wanted it to look like the flowers were still stuck to the strip, so I glued them back in place. I just made sure the petels rose from the background. Piece of cake!....and a lovely look, right?!

The sentiment, "grattis" meaning "congratulations", are covered with crackle accent to add interest and a more genuin look.

And here we have the sketch that I used....fab one isn´t it?

Hope you´ll play along with us on 365 Cards.

Ok...now I´ll have to go. I´m invited to a crop in Västerås to some people that I don´t know...yet! I´m soo looking forward to this and I hope to meet some new friends!

Hope you´ll have a wonderful week ahead of you!

Vintage week on 365 Cards

Hi there!
I´m here today with a card that I made for this Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 Cards.
Fab sketch...fab theme starting today....and best of all - a fab prize for one lucky winner!
It´s former 365´er, Gloria Stengel, that is sponsoring with a full load of Graphic 45 goodies! How about that?! All you need to do is to play along in at least one of the challenges this week...not very hard, right?

Well...I told you I had a card to show and here it is! = ) Enjoy!

And, of course, a little close-up on the lovely TH birdcage with it´s sweet contents of flowers.

I have wet embossed and distressed the birdcage to get a older look to it. Gorgeous don´t you think?!

And the sentiment "God Jul" means "Merry Christmas". A Christmas card in the middle of the summer...? Crazy! you might think...Well, I was inspired by the sketch to make a Christmas card and so I did! ; )

Now let´s see what you get inspired to create....here´s the sketch!

And when you´re done cardmaking, don´t forget to come back to 365 Cards to let us know!

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.

I will try to enjoy it as much as I can, since it´s the last one before school starts again on Wednesday! = )

But that will be great too! Getting back to routines and a more regular life!

Hope to see you back soon!

Hugs

Sophia

Late posting is better than none!

Hi there!
Summer, vacationtime, lazy days with the family....that leaves not much time to be crafty or taking care of the blogging part.
Today I wanted to share my card for 365 Cards for challenge day 146. I know...I´m a little behind on my posting...two weeks to be specific! But better late than never, right? Soo..I´d better stop rambling and show you my card instead. = )
Below you will find, not only my take on the sketch, but the sketch itself.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stay crafty...

Hugs and love!

Rebel take...or just a free interpretation..? ; )

Hi there!
Sunday it is and that calls for a card, right? ; )
You´re so right about that, and I´m not gonna disappoint you. This week, Pam gave us a new, lovely sketch and I instantly felt the urge to bring out my distressinks ands Heidi Swapp masks. It´s been a while since I played with the HS masks and it was so much fun!
Soo...without further delay...here´s my "rebel take" on the sketch...or, as one can call it, my free interpretation! = )

And I think you need to see the sketch as well...just to determine if it´s a free interpretation or worse - a rebel take...!?

Hope you feel inspired to take on the challenge yourself and have a go with the sketch. Don´t forget to come to 365 Cards and post a link to your blogpost. We would really love to see what you come up with...and you might even be the lucky one to win a prize...

Have a wonderful week and stay crafty!

Hugs and love!

And another Super Sketchy Sunday card! = )

Hi again!
Short blogpost this time. Not like my previous one, haha. = )
Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 Cards...and I have, of course, a card for you!
Since we also have a new sponsor this week - Digi Darla - we got to play with one of their digis. I chose this cute little sailboat.
Colored with my distress ink pads and waterbrush, then gently cut out with a crafting knife and finally mounted on pop dots for some dimension.

I couldn´t resist the chance to use loads of flowers...think it fits the summer theme pretty good, right?!

And a close-up on the sweet sailboat. I put some glossy accent on the waves..I don´t know if you can see it in the picture or not. But it´s there.

The sentiment is in swedish and mean " Happy summer".

If you feel inspired to have a go at the sketch yourself, here it is!

And, of course, we would love to see what you create. So don´t forget to add a link to your blog when you´re ready.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Busy playing along...

Hi there!
Jepp! Like I said, I´ve been busy playing along with this weeks challenges over at 365 Cards.
I finally had a night to myself and felt my creativity going. And the result are these cards. Enjoy!

*****

For day 137. A photograph, a vintage-style item and soft colors. ( I went for a rebel take on this one...regarding the photo I meen. )

*****

Day 136. Sponging, scallops and stitching.

One more rebel take...about the stitching. Think I´m allergic to needles and thread ; )
I made my own mask by using 4 sheets of post-it notes and letting them thru my border punch before attaching them to my paper. Then adding different colors and some stamping. Love the result!

*****

Day 135. Chipboard, patterned paper and fringe.

Ok, I have to confess...I don´t have a clue about what fringe meens...but I guess it´s a kind of thread or lace. Well, at least it is now, haha, since that´s what I used on my card! ; )

Super girly....! I embossed the chipboard with black powder at first and the second coating with red powder. Nice effect, where you still can see a little of the black!

*****

Day 134. Buttons, ric-rac and pearls.

Tough one! I usually never use either buttons or ric-rac...
This card is made for a special purpose. I will give it to my son when he comes back from Vancouver. The sentiment reads "Welcome home".

*****

Day 133. Lace, pins and glitter.

I went for plenty of lace...and a little less glitter. But you will find the glitter on the flowers.

Ok...that was all I had to show for now...my next blogpost will be up soon, with my take on the Sunday Sketch. So feel free to come back for more... ; )

Have a lovely week everyone...and thanks for looking!

Back on track...!

Yeah..!
I´m back on track again!
These last couple of weeks have been quite busy... Last Friday, on July the 1:st, I said goodby to my oldest son and sent him to Vancouver, Canada for a one month stay. He´s representing Sweden on a camp held by CISV ( Childrens International Summer Village ). He is only 11 years old and have never been abroad before...not even been on a plane!

So, I guess you can imagine the butterflies in my stomach before he left!

But that was a week ago, and I have seen some pictures of how much fun he´s having over there, so now I´m back on track again!! = )
And I really enjoyed taking on this weeks Sunday sketch at 365 Cards. So fun and versatile!
Hope you´ll enjoy both my card and the sketch....

Quite colorful, right?! Not my usual choice of colors, but it was fun to go a bit "wild and crazy".

And the sketch then...great one, don´t you think?!

If you´ll have a go at the sketch, don´t forget to stop by at 365 Cards to let us know. And while you´re there...check out my fellow dt-sisters awsome work! They sure rock!! = )

Well...here in Sweden it´s summer and it is soo lovely. We have had the opportunity to enjoy some really sunny and hot days here..and I´m about to get out into my garden to let myself have a tan....see you soon! = )
